Bipolar Disorders are characterized by unpredictable changes in moods and energy levels. This may manifest through abnormal emotional or energy highs or lows. Post-traumatic stress disorder is a condition that is characterized by extreme distress due to exposure to a traumatic event that affects a person’s daily living. The effects may manifest in the four PTSD symptoms: intrusive thoughts and memories of the traumatic event, avoidance of things that may bring memories of the event, pervasive changes in moods and thoughts, and changes in reactivity and arousal.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a condition that involves obsessions or recurring and unwanted thoughts and compulsions or the drive to do something repetitively caused by compulsions. The repetitive behaviors may be observed in hand washing, checking and rechecking on things, or cleaning. These behaviors are not of the individual’s will; instead, they generally lead to distress and affect their lives and social interactions.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is a disorder that affects an individual’s behavior. It is usually diagnosed during childhood but may also be diagnosed during adulthood. While the symptoms differ for each person, individuals with the condition may find focusing on daily activities and routines challenging. They may also be observed having trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behavior, and may be prone to restlessness.
Insomnia is among the most common sleep disorders that affect the quantity and quality of sleep. Individuals who have this condition may experience difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep, waking up too early, and poor sleep quality.
